2025 KCSC Volunteer

Job Description

The Kenosha Community Sailing Center (KCSC) relies on the dedication of volunteers to support our operations, programs, and community outreach efforts. Below are detailed descriptions of volunteer roles, expectations, benefits, and frequently asked questions to help you get involved.

Volunteer Roles and Responsibilities

Volunteers in this role assist with the upkeep of our boats, facilities, and grounds. Tasks
may involve physical labor, such as lifting heavy items, or using tools like hand tools,
hammers, paintbrushes, sanders, and power washers. Some activities may require
getting hands-on and working in outdoor conditions.

Volunteers may work independently, alongside other volunteers, or with the
management team. Regular maintenance days are scheduled throughout the year, with
additional special workdays in April/May and October/November to prepare for the
season’s opening and closing.

Volunteers are needed to represent KCSC at community events, such as the Kenosha
Expo or Farmers Market, by staffing vendor booths. Responsibilities include engaging
with community members, distributing promotional materials, answering questions
about programs, and overseeing interactive activities at the booth. This role requires
standing for extended periods and maintaining a friendly, approachable demeanor.
