Benefiting KCSC’s High School and Collegiate Competitive C420 Sailing Team

Kenosha Community Sailing Center is building a racing team. Come be there at the start! All proceeds from our Mardi Gras fundraiser support our high school and collegiate competitive C420 sailing team, equipment and coaching for student athletes to compete and bring home trophies in this classic Olympic sport. Your contribution will help establish a lasting program that benefits students, celebrates Kenosha’s maritime heritage, and strengthens our community’s educational and recreational landscape.

This special New Orleans–themed evening features dinner, entertainment, and a mini Mardi Gras parade inspired by the’tit Rəx tradition. Each table will make their own mini parade float in the tradition of ‘tit Rex and become its own “krewe”, creating and parading shoebox-sized floats with provided craft supplies for a chance to win awesome prizes (not to mention bragging rights!)

‘tit Rex is short for Petit Rex (“Little Rex”), and is a popular New Orleans parade held during Carnival. The ‘tit Rex floats are made out of shoeboxes that look like full size floats. Typically ‘tit Rex floats are witty, creative and satirical. Themes have covered everything from local politics to national events.
